Dr. Sue Jennings is a pioneering figure in the field of drama therapy and early childhood development, with a diverse background that encompasses both the performing arts and innovative therapeutic practices. Her early career as a dancer and actor laid the groundwork for her subsequent development of Neuro-Dramatic-Play (NDP) and Dramatherapy, which she has implemented in various countries, including the UK, Greece, Romania, Malaysia, China, and India.
Dr. Jennings’ doctoral research took her deep into the Malaysian rainforest, where she lived alongside tribal communities for 18 months with her three children. This immersive experience profoundly influenced her understanding of culture and human connection, enriching her approach to therapy and education.
She is committed to promoting healthy early childhood development and has created NDP training courses that have reached participants from over 30 countries, expanding the impact of her work globally. An accomplished author, Dr. Jennings has published over 50 books on topics related to NDP, drama, play, therapeutic play and drama, storytelling, and attachment, making significant contributions to the fields of education and mental health. Her passion for fostering creativity and emotional well-being in children continues to inspire practitioners and educators worldwide.
