Young Carers ACtion Day

12th March 2026 – The theme for Young Carers Action Day 2026 is ‘Fair Futures for Young Carers’, a call to ensure every young carer has the same chances to learn, grow and thrive as their peers.

Young carers often take on adult responsibilities, balancing school, social life, and caregiving, all while navigating the emotional impact of disability in their families. We need to make sure their voices are heard!

World Down syndrome day

21st March 2026 – World Down Syndrome Day is a chance to celebrate people with Down syndrome as valued members of our families, schools and communities. In recognition of the day, we have recorded a podcast with Sarah Holton from Down Syndrome UK to discuss ‘Supporting children with Down syndrome to reach their full potential’.

World sleep day

13th March 2026 – World Sleep Day is an opportunity to promote sleep health alongside thousands of other sleep health professionals and advocates.

Getting to sleep can be challenging for some, often leading to hours spent trying to unwind before finally drifting off. Improving sleep is crucial – not just for children and young people, but also for their parents, families, friends, classmates, teachers, and communities as a whole.

Dr Jill McGarry, consultant clinical psychologist and sleep expert, joins Dale to discuss ‘Sleep, Neurodiversity and Learning Disability’.

Dyscalculia Awareness Day

3rd March 2026 – Dyscalculia Day aims to raise awareness and bring attention to the challenges faced by those with dyscalculia, provide educational resources, and promote understanding in schools, homes and workplaces.

The Dyscalculia Network joined us to record a podcast giving an insight into what it’s like ‘Living with Dyscalculia’ and a CPD online training session to support dyscalculia in the classroom.

Purple Day

26th March 2026 – Purple Day is a global awareness event dedicated to increasing understanding of epilepsy. Each year, people around the world wear purple and host events to show their support.

On 26th March, listen to this insightful podcast with Catherine Hodder, Head of Policy, Influencing & Youth Voice at Young Epilepsy. She shares practical guidance to help school staff confidently support pupils with epilepsy – from first aid basics to creating a supportive and inclusive school environment.
