This ADHD Awareness Month, we’re highlighting our resources that help raise awareness and provide valuable insights for individuals, families and educators affected by Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).

This year’s theme, “A Community of Support”, is all about coming together – sharing accurate information, lived experience and practical strategies so that nobody has to navigate ADHD alone. It reflects a wider vision: a world where understanding ADHD leads to connection, support and real opportunities to thrive, with access to that support at every stage of life. The SENDcast is proud to be part of that community.

Hyperfocus: From Survival to Superpower with Emma Muir

Our podcast host Dale was recently joined by Emma Muir, a social media marketer and education communication strategist who was diagnosed with ADHD at 45.  Emma and Dale talk honestly about late diagnosis, why so many adults are offered antidepressants or HRT before an ADHD assessment, and whether “superpower” is the right word for neurodivergence. As Emma puts it, the answer depends almost entirely on context – and that’s exactly why a community of support matters.

“The most succinct and enlightening information I’ve seen. As a busy teacher this was easy and engaging to watch, thought provoking, simple yet empowering at the same time. It makes you feel like you can make the difference!”

Helen Calpin / online review

“Very interesting video – not really knowing alot about ADHD, I now have a clearer understanding on why some children are distracted and not focused and can become disruptive, the tips are going to help me in the classroom.”

Suzanne Rodenhurst / online review

The host of the SENDcast, Dale Pickles, received an ADHD diagnosis and shared his experience on his own podcast.

“I got called back into the room and was confirmed that I do have ASC and ADHD. So for me, getting the diagnosis was just a really big ‘it’s not your fault moment'”
