Developing a whole school culture of Inclusion
Inclusion is more than a policy – it needs to become embedded in the ethos, language and daily practice of your whole school. This session explores how school leaders can develop a culture of inclusion that aligns with the new Ofsted framework and proposed SEND reforms, and makes a real difference for children.
Drawing on 40 years of classroom and leadership experience, Sara explains what it really takes to build a whole school culture of inclusion – and how to back it with the policies and procedures to make it work. She also unpacks the differing views of inclusion expressed in the Ofsted framework and the SEN White Paper, and what these mean for schools in practice.
The SEND reforms are still developing – but schools don’t need to wait to make meaningful progress.
This session is part of our series focusing on what schools can and should be doing right now.
